Historic Fortifications

Fort de Penthièvre
An 18th-century fortification controlling the narrow isthmus of the Quiberon peninsula. It served as a major site during the 1795 Quiberon expedition and is currently used as a military training base.
La Citadelle
A 16th-century fortress in Le Palais, later expanded by Vauban. This massive citadel overlooks the harbor and now houses a museum dedicated to the history of Belle-Île-en-Mer.
Château Turpault
