Gythio Unmissables

Gythio serves as the historic port of Sparta, characterized by its neoclassical waterfront and the islet of Kranae. A 67-meter cargo ship abandoned on Valtaki Beach since 1981. The rusted hull is easily accessible from the shore and has become a landmark of the Laconian coast.

Roman-era theater dating to the 1st or 2nd century AD. Built with white marble, it once seated approximately 4,000 spectators at the base of the ancient acropolis hill.
