See the Best of Dublin in One Day

Do not miss out any of the most popular sights in Dublin with this one day itinerary.

Your day in Dublin starts on the Ha'penny Bridge that stretches across the Liffey River. It was the first bridge to be built on this river, and it remained the only one for another 184 years. Then, move to Trinity College, one of the world's top universities and also Ireland's oldest one. Even though it is located in the city center, it retains a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Next, go see Oscar Wilde House, where the Wilde family used to live and where the world-famous playwright and novelist spent a part of his childhood. Although it is not open to visitors, it's worth seeing.

Continue to the Leinster House, a former ducal residence designed in a Palladian style which has been used as a parliamentary building since 1922. You can tour the complex to learn more about Ireland's parliamentary heritage. Next, move to the George's Steet Arcade, one of Europe's oldest shopping centres in the historical part of Dublin. Nowadays, it houses 50 stalls selling a wide range of products including clothes, accessories, books and food. Next stop is the Dublin Castle, a vast complex founded in 1204 comprising of several buildings and yards that used to serve as a seat of the British government of Ireland. Take a while to discover everything the complex has to offer.

Christ Church Cathedral is a magnificent example of religious architecture. It boasts the largest cathedral crypt in Britain and a belfry, where, if you get lucky, you can ring the bells yourself. Next, you arrive at the largest church in Ireland - St. Patrick's Cathedral. It's worth visiting for both the imposing exterior and the beautiful interior, which feels more like a museum thanks to the many artifacts on display here.

End your day in the Guinness Storehouse, because it wouldn't be a trip to Dublin if you didn't have a pint of Guinness. In addition to that, here you can also learn about how the world-famous Guinness stout is made and you can even learn how to pour the perfect pint.
