The Adirondack region preserves its heritage through a diverse collection of landmarks, from the French and Indian War battlegrounds at Lake George Battlefield Park to the 19th-century agricultural life at the 1812 Homestead Farm. Visitors can explore the natural history of the mountains at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake and the Adirondack Experience at Blue Mountain Lake. This collection also features specialized structures like the Azure Mountain Fire Observation Station and the Salisbury Center Bridge, the sole surviving covered bridge in Herkimer County, alongside the Steuben Memorial honoring Revolutionary War hero Baron von Steuben.
