Altai Lakes & Waterfalls

This collection features the diverse hydrological landmarks of the Altai Republic, ranging from the 160-meter Uchar cascade on the Chulcha River to the turquoise glacial waters of Kucherla Lake. It includes boat-accessible sites on Lake Teletskoye, such as Korbu and Cedor, alongside roadside attractions like Shirlak (Devici Slezy) along the Chuysky Trakt. These sites showcase unique geological formations, including the moss-covered cascades of Emurlinskij and the ancient petroglyphs found on the rocks surrounding Beltertuuk.

Ucar

A 160-meter cascading waterfall on the Chulcha River, formed by a massive rockfall. It is the largest cascade in the Altai Mountains and is located within the Altai State Nature Biosphere Reserve.

Kamyslinskij vodopad

A 12-meter, two-tiered waterfall located near the mouth of the Kamyshla River. It is accessible via a suspension bridge across the Katun River followed by a forest trail.

Kucherlinskoe Lake

Lake Kucherla is located in the Altai Mountains and Katun Nature Reserve of Siberia.

Korbu waterfall

A 12.8-meter waterfall on the eastern shore of Lake Teletskoye. Located within the Altai Nature Reserve, it is primarily accessible by boat and features a wooden boardwalk for viewing.

Verhnij Karasu

Upper waterfall located on the Karasu River.

Nizgnij Karasu

Lower waterfall situated on the Karasu River.

Emurlinskij

A waterfall characterized by numerous thin streams flowing over emerald-green, moss-covered rocks at the headwaters of the Emurla River.

Devici Slezy Vodopad

Also known as Shirlak, this waterfall drops approximately 20 meters. It is located near the 759-kilometer mark of the Chuisky Trakt highway.

Kujguk

A 30-meter waterfall that drains the Upper Kuyguk Lake into the Lower Kuyguk Lake within the Katun Range.

Kurkure

A 15-meter waterfall located in the Chulyshman Valley, approximately 5 kilometers from the mouth of the Chulcha River.

Beltertuuk

A two-tiered waterfall with a total drop of 29 meters. The surrounding rock faces contain ancient petroglyphs dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages.
