Ancient Ruins and Historical Sites
This collection spans the historical breadth of the Chalkidiki peninsula, from the Classical city-states of Olynthos and Stagira—the birthplace of Aristotle—to the Byzantine fortifications that guarded the region. Highlights include the Temple of Ammon Zeus in Kallithea, the archaeological site of Toroni with its ancient harbor remains, and the Monastery of Zygos, a rare example of an Athonite monastery outside the current monastic state. Pyrgos Ouranoupoles (Prosphoriou)
A 14th-century Byzantine watchtower built by the Vatopedi Monastery to protect its dependency. It is the best-preserved tower in the region and now houses a museum.

Temple of Ammon Zeus
A significant sanctuary in Kallithea dedicated to the Egyptian god Ammon Zeus and Dionysus. Foundations dating from the 4th century BC remain visible on the beach.
Archaia kai Byzantina teiche tes Potidaias (Teichos tes Kassandras)
Defensive walls of the ancient Corinthian colony and later Byzantine settlement, which cut across the narrowest part of the Kassandra peninsula.
Akanthos
Ancient city founded by Andrian colonists in the 7th century BC. The site includes segments of the city walls and a large cemetery used from the Archaic to Hellenistic periods.
Sidirokafsia-ottom bath
Remains of an Ottoman-era bathhouse and mining settlement. The area was a significant center for silver and gold mining during the Byzantine and Ottoman periods.
Naos Poseidona
Ruins of a sanctuary dedicated to Poseidon at Cape Poseidi. It is one of the oldest temples in the region, with foundations dating back to the 12th century BC.
Archaiologikos choros Olynthou
The main archaeological site of Olynthos, famous for its well-preserved Hippodamian urban grid and some of the earliest known Greek floor mosaics.

Derveni Necropolis
Site where the famous Derveni Krater and Derveni Papyrus were discovered. It contains multiple rich Macedonian tombs from the 4th century BC.
Macedonian Tomb
A monumental vaulted tomb from the Hellenistic period, characteristic of the burial customs of the Macedonian elite.
