Curonian Spit essentials

The Curonian Spit is a 98-kilometer UNESCO World Heritage site shared by Lithuania and Russia. This list features the highest sand dunes in Europe, including Efa's Height, and the unique Dancing Forest where pine trees grow in twisted shapes. Key cultural sites include the Hill of Witches' folk sculptures and the Lithuanian Sea Museum housed in a 19th-century fort. The area also hosts one of Europe's largest breeding colonies of cormorants and herons.

Vysota Efa

One of the highest points on the Curonian Spit, this observation deck overlooks the shifting sands of the Orekhovaya dune, the Baltic Sea, and the village of Morskoe.

A pine forest planted in the 1960s where the tree trunks are mysteriously contorted into loops and spirals. It is situated on the 37th kilometer of the spit.
