Gunung Mulu National Park: The Absolute Essentials

Gunung Mulu National Park in Sarawak contains one of the world's largest cave systems and distinctive limestone karst formations. Cave of the Winds

Part of the Clearwater Cave System, this cavern is named for the cool breezes at its entrance. It features the King’s Chamber, a large room filled with intricate stalactites and stalagmites.

Deer Cave

Noted for having one of the world's largest cave passages, measuring over 120 meters wide and high. It serves as a roost for millions of wrinkle-lipped bats and features the 'Abraham Lincoln' profile rock formation.

Clearwater Cave

The largest cave system in Southeast Asia by volume, containing a subterranean river. It is accessible via a long staircase and a boat ride up the Melinau River.

Pinnacles

Sharp limestone karsts located on the slopes of Mount Api. Reaching heights of up to 45 meters, these formations are accessed via a steep, challenging trek through high-altitude forest.

Bat Exodus Observation Platform

An outdoor seating area designed for viewing the nightly exit of millions of bats from Deer Cave, typically occurring between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM.

Bat Observatory

A designated viewing point situated near the entrance of Deer Cave, providing a clear line of sight for the spiraling bat colonies as they emerge at dusk.

Tree Top Tower

A 30-meter-high bird-watching tower located within the rainforest, offering views of the canopy and opportunities to spot endemic species like hornbills.

Wildlife Observation Shelter

A quiet hide located near a natural salt lick, used for observing nocturnal and terrestrial forest animals in their natural habitat.

Mulu Canopy Walk
