Olsztyn is defined by its Brick Gothic architecture and its history as the residence of Nicolaus Copernicus. This selection features the 14th-century Olsztyn Castle, where Copernicus conducted astronomical observations, and the St. James Cathedral, a prime example of Warmian Gothic style. The historic center is marked by the High Gate, the last surviving part of the city's medieval fortifications.
