Historic Ruins and Monuments

This collection features significant historical sites around Podgorica and Skadar Lake, spanning from ancient Illyrian foundations to 20th-century memorials. It includes the 17th-century Ottoman Sahat Kula clock tower and the ancient ruins of Medun. Lesendro

Lesendro is an island and a fortress in Skadar Lake in Montenegro. It is located near the small town of Vranjina.

Sat Kula (Clocktower)

Built in 1667 by Hadži-paša Osmanagić, this 16-meter Ottoman clock tower is a landmark of the Stara Varoš district. It remains one of the few structures in the city that survived the heavy bombings of World War II.

Kralju Nikoli I

Bronze monument dedicated to Nikola I Petrović Njegoš, who ruled Montenegro from 1860 to 1918. He was the country's first and only king, overseeing its formal independence at the Congress of Berlin.

Saint Peter of Cetinje

Large bronze statue honoring Petar I Petrović Njegoš, a 19th-century bishop and ruler. He is celebrated for unifying Montenegrin tribes and establishing the first written legal code in the country.

Palom borcu

Located on Gorica Hill, this neoclassical mausoleum and monument honors the 97 National Heroes and partisans from the region who fell during World War II.

Stari Grad Medun

Ancient Illyrian settlement founded in the 4th century BC, later used as a medieval fortress. The site overlooks the valley and houses the museum of the celebrated writer and hero Marko Miljanov.

Balšin grad

Grad Oblun

Medieval fortress situated on a hill overlooking the Malo Blato section of Skadar Lake. The site features the remains of defensive walls and structures dating back to the 14th or 15th century.
