Designed by engineer Gustave Eiffel, with contributions from Stéphen Sauvestre, Maurice Koechlin, and Émile Nouguier, the structure served as the centerpiece of the 1889 World's Fair. This 330-meter wrought-iron lattice tower was the tallest man-made structure in the world until 1930. It is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The tower consists of three levels, including the highest public observation deck in the European Union located at the summit. On-site facilities include restaurants, souvenir shops, and event spaces. In addition to its role as a cultural icon, the structure functions as a broadcast transmitter.
Access to the different levels is available via elevators or stairs. The observation decks provide panoramic views of the city, including landmarks such as the Louvre and Sacré-Coeur Basilica.
