Looming in the Montparnasse district, this 210 meters tall tower used to be the tallest skyscraper in France until 2011. It houses offices and a restaurant, but the 56th floor is open to the public for viewing the skyline of the city. On a good sunny day, you can see as far as 40 kilometers.
You can also buy a souvenir photo of you and the view of Paris in the background. The tower is open after sunset too, when the Eiffel Tower is illuminated. It's usually not very packed, so you can enjoy the experience relatively undisturbed. The tower is built right on top of the Montparnasse metro station - that is also the easiest way to get here.
