The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area offers diverse camping options along the Historic Columbia River Highway and the riverbanks. From the volcanic monolith of Beacon Rock to the waterfall-dense Eagle Creek area, these sites provide access to world-class hiking trails, windsurfing spots, and historic landmarks. Facilities range from primitive tent sites and group camps to full-hookup RV resorts near the Sandy and Deschutes rivers.

Eagle Creek Overlook Group Campground

Large group-only site overlooking the Columbia River and Bonneville Dam. Features a historic stone pavilion built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.

Beacon Rock State Park Campground

Situated near the 848-foot basalt volcanic plug. Provides access to a mile-long switchback trail to the summit and technical rock climbing faces.

Woodard Creek Campground

Located within Beacon Rock State Park, offering primitive sites on the north side of State Route 14.

Ainsworth Campground

Located at the eastern end of the waterfall corridor. Direct access to the Horsetail Falls trail and the Historic Columbia River Highway state trail.

Herman Creek Camp

Primitive site serving as a trailhead for the Herman Creek and Pacific Crest Trails near Cascade Locks.

Eagle Creek Campground

Established in 1916 as the first Forest Service campground in the United States. Located near the Eagle Creek Trail and Punch Bowl Falls.

Memaloose State Park Campground

Accessible only from the westbound lanes of I-84. Offers views of Memaloose Island, a historic Native American burial site.
