Sarajevo’s sports landscape combines historic Olympic venues with modern recreational facilities. Mount Igman features the remains of the 1984 Olympic ski jumps and Nordic trails, while the expansive Centar Safet Zajko provides outdoor tracks and pitches. Indoor athletics are centered in municipal halls like KSC Ilidža and the Ramiz Salčin arena, which host professional basketball, futsal, and volleyball competitions across the Ilidža and Novi Grad districts.
Centar Safet Zajko
An 11-hectare park and recreational complex featuring athletic tracks, football pitches, tennis courts, and open-air fitness equipment. Formerly a military facility, it now serves as a central hub for outdoor sports and leisure in the Novi Grad municipality.
Igman
Mountain southwest of Sarajevo that hosted Nordic skiing and ski jumping events during the 1984 Winter Olympics. It features diverse hiking trails and high-altitude training environments.
Skakaonica Igman Žunovnica
Olympic ski jumping hills constructed for the 1984 Winter Olympics at Malo Polje. The site contains the 70-meter and 90-meter concrete structures and the original Olympic medal podium.
KSC Ilidža
A multi-purpose indoor arena used for basketball, volleyball, and handball matches. It serves as the primary sports venue for the Ilidža municipality and hosts local competitions and cultural events.
Olimpijska dvorana "Ramiz Salčin"
Located in the Mojmilo neighborhood, this indoor sports hall hosts professional basketball and futsal games. The facility features a spectator seating capacity of approximately 1,500 and was reconstructed following the Bosnian War.
Sportska dvorana Dobrinja
A modern indoor facility designed for school sports and local club training. It features courts for basketball and volleyball, serving the residential community of the Dobrinja neighborhood.
