Iconic Southern Alps Peaks

Glaciers of Aoraki / Mount Cook

Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park contains some of New Zealand's most significant ice formations, including the 27-kilometer-long Tasman Glacier, the country's longest. These glaciers, such as the Hooker and Mueller, originate high in the Southern Alps and feed into prominent proglacial lakes. Wilderness Huts and Shelters

These high-altitude shelters provide essential base points for mountaineers and experienced hikers within Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. The collection includes historic structures like the 1917 Sefton Bivvy, the park's oldest hut, alongside modern facilities like the 2003 Mueller Hut.
