Victory Column

Local nameViktoria
LocationMitte, Berlin, Deutschland

The monument of the Danish-Prussian War is nicknamed by the locals as the "Golden Lizzie". Originally, it was located on Königsplatz but it was relocated by the Nazis during World War II.

The monument was designed in 1864 in order to commemorate the Danish-Prussian War but before it was finished, Prussia won two more wars so it became all the more meaningful.

You can get all the way to the top (on the observation deck under the golden angel) from where you can get a spectacular view of Berlin. Be sure to check the official website before your visit since the opening hours vary depending on the season.
