Skopje’s urban landscape is defined by a striking contrast between centuries-old Ottoman heritage and the grand monuments of the city's modern architectural revival. The 15th-century Stone Bridge connects the historic Old Bazaar, home to the Ottoman-style Murat Pasha Mosque, with the modern city center. Dominating the skyline are massive bronze sculptures like the Warrior on a Horse and the Philip II monument, alongside the 66-meter tall Millennium Cross on Mount Vodno and the triumphal Porta Macedonia.

Stone Bridge

Philip II of Macedon

Located in Karposh’s Rebellion Square, this 13-meter-tall bronze monument sits on a fountain pedestal decorated with reliefs depicting ancient Macedonian history. It stands directly across the Vardar River from the Warrior on a Horse statue.

Murat Pasha Mosque

Situated in the Old Bazaar, this mosque was originally constructed in 1436. The current building dates to 1802 after being rebuilt following a fire, featuring a traditional stone minaret and classic Ottoman religious architecture.
