Skopje Essentials

Skopje’s landscape is defined by the Vardar River, spanned by the 15th-century Stone Bridge connecting the modern Macedonia Square to the historic Old Bazaar. This Ottoman-era marketplace houses the 15th-century Mustafa Pasha Mosque and leads to the Byzantine-era Skopje Fortress. Modern additions include the 66-meter Millennium Cross on Mount Vodno and the monumental Warrior on a Horse statue.
