Stubai Alps Mountain Huts
The Stubai Alps feature a network of high-altitude mountain huts situated between 1,600 and 3,100 meters across the Austrian Tyrol and Italian South Tyrol. These Category I and II shelters, mostly managed by the German and Austrian Alpine Clubs, provide essential infrastructure for the Stubai High Trail. Many offer regional Tyrolean cuisine, dormitory and private room accommodations, and access to glaciers and peaks like the Zuckerhütl. Facilities often include showers, drying rooms, and Wi-fi, catering to long-distance hikers and mountaineers.
A Dortmunder Hütte
An alpine shelter owned by the DAV Dortmund Section, situated at 1,948 meters. It features regional cuisine, shower facilities, and Wi-fi access.
B Amberger Hütte
A Category I DAV Amberg Section hut located at 2,135 meters in the Sulztal valley. It provides regional food and shower facilities.
C Müllerhütte - Rifugio Cima Libera
A seasonal high-alpine shelter at 3,145 meters in South Tyrol near the Austrian border, surrounded by glaciers.
D Innsbrucker Hut
The Innsbrucker Hut is a mountain hut in the Stubai Alps at an altitude of 2,369 metres in the Gschnitz Valley, not far from the Pinnisjoch.
E Müllerhütte - Rifugio Cima Libera
High-altitude Alpine Club hut in the South Tyrolean Stubai Alps, operating during the summer season.
F Padasterjochhaus
Mountain shelter at 2,232 meters featuring an on-site restaurant. It serves as a base for exploring the Serleskamm ridge.
G Franz Senn Hut
The Franz Senn Hut is a large and very popular Category I alpine hut in the Stubai Alps owned by the Austrian Alpine Club.
H Dresdner Hütte
DAV Dresden Section hut located at 2,308 meters. The facility is non-smoking throughout and provides free internet access for guests.
I Bremer Hütte
Alpine shelter owned by the DAV Bremen Section. Situated at 2,413 meters, it is a key stop on the Stubai High Trail.
J Sulzenauhütte
Category I DAV Leipzig Section hut at 2,191 meters. It is located near the Sulzenau glacier and several alpine waterfalls.
K Elferhütte
Privately managed mountain hut at 2,080 meters below the Elferspitze. It features a self-service restaurant with views of the Pinnis Valley.
L Nürnberger Hütte
Category I DAV Nuremberg Section hut at 2,278 meters. It offers an on-site restaurant and serves as a base for glacier tours.
M Neue Bielefelder Hütte
DAV Bielefeld Section shelter at 2,112 meters. It includes a restaurant and provides access to the climbing areas of the Hochoetz region.
N Tribulaunhaus
Managed by Naturefriends Austria, this hut is located at 2,064 meters at the foot of the Gschnitzer Tribulaun.
O Potsdamer Hütte
DAV Dinkelsbühl Section hut at 2,009 meters. It features a restaurant and serves the Fotsch Valley region.
P Grohmannhütte - Rifugio Vedretta Piana
South Tyrolean mountain shelter at 2,254 meters in the Ridnaun Valley, providing access to the Übelbeltal glacier.
Q Teplitzerhütte - Rifugio Vedretta Pendente
High-altitude hut in South Tyrol at 2,586 meters, situated above the Ridnaun Valley near the Aglsboden lake.
R Sattelbergalm
Alpine hut at 1,633 meters near the Brenner Pass on the Austrian-Italian border. It features a restaurant serving regional Tyrolean products.
Hochstubaihütte
The highest hut of the DAV Dresden Section, situated at 3,115 meters. It offers Wi-fi and regional cuisine in a non-smoking environment.
