Oberbaumbrücke

Local nameOberbaumbrücke
LocationFriedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Berlin, Deutschland

This stunning double-deck bridge is one of the iconic landmarks of Berlin. Built in 1896, it connects Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain.

After World War II it was closed since Kreuzberg was a part of West-Berlin and Friedrichshain belonged to East-Berlin. Ever since the Fall of the Berlin Wall, the bridge (together with other Berlin sights) embodies the connection of the reunited city.

Today, you can walk across the bridge and enjoy the view from it or you can take part in one of the cruise tours and sail under it. It is a spectacular sight from all angles anyway. In the evening and during the night, it is beautifully lit up.
